Programming Humor - I'm Programmer

It's time for another post on Programming Humor or Developer Friday Fun.

Last word

Three friends travel on a train trough Swaziland. One is manager, one is consultant and one is programmer. On their voyage they see through the window a single black sheep peaceful grazing in the meadow. Consultant among them swiftly concludes: " Aha! You see there my friends, in Swaziland all sheep are black!" Manager kindly replies: "No my friend. From this we can only conclude in Swaziland there is at least one sheep that is black" On that programmer gently shakes his head and says: "You are both wrong my friends. For this all we can say that in Swaziland there is at least one sheep that is at least half black."

The solution

The same three friends check into a hotel that evening, each taking a different room. By a strange coincidence they all fall asleep whilst smoking a cigarette which goes on to start a fire that, if not extinguished will burn down the hotel. The consultant wakes up, see the fire, fills a glass of water from the bathroom and puts the fire out. The programmer does the same, but does a quick calculation and measures out the exact volume of water required to extinguish the flames. The manager wakes up, sees the fire, sees the glass, sees the tap and - satisfied that the problem has a solution - goes back to sleep.

Equality

Programmer: 0.999... = 1 User: So 0.9 = 1? Programmer: No! User: So 0.99 = 1? Programmer: No! User: So 0.999 = 1? Programmer: No! User: So 0.9999 = 1? Programmer: No! User: So 0.99999 = 1? Programmer: No! User: So 0.999999 = 1? Programmer: No! User: So 0.9999999 = 1?
